Love Is Always Write story up today

cuddle
My story for the M/M Romance Group event Love is Always Write, West, Haven, is now available at GoodReads. You must be a member of the group to read it there. (I will also have it available for download once I get the correctly formatted .PDF.)

I have also mirrored it at FreeReads and Archive of Our Own.

Summary: We have been best friends forever. During college we grew apart; he dated women, I dated men. Now, we have both moved back to our hometown and decided to share an apartment together until our careers take off. Can he ever feel about me the way I feel about him?

I've got an entry for the Hop Against Homophobia over at Like Driving At Night. (For contest entry purposes, I'm trying to keep comments at a single location.)

lucky 7 for the 7th

typewriter
I'm going to try and do this on the 7th of each month, with whatever I'm working on.

The rules:
1. Go to page 77 (or 7th) of your current ms
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written. No cheating.

Seven lines from the current WIP are under the jump.

Torquere Press 2012 Charity Sip blitz

make something
It's that time again, where all of our great authors get together to donate
to a charity working within the GLBTQ community! This year, Torquere Press
has chosen NOH8 as the donation charity, and authors who contribute agree to
donate 100% of their royalties to NOH8, with Torquere Press matching the
donation.

This year's theme, since this is Torquere Press' ninth anniversary as well,
is leather. Nine is the leather anniversary, y'all! How cool is that?

Leather can be reflected in any way in the story. BDSM may immediately
spring to mind, but leather can also mean cowboys, fast cars, Italian shoes,
jewelry, or any of a million other things. We want stories that show LGBTQ
characters in positive situations, and have strong stories with happy
endings. (Or at least happy for now.)

Word count is 3000 to 8000 words, and those limits are firm. Please adjust
your manuscripts accordingly before submission. Deadline for submissions is
July 1, 2012. Please send all submissions to submissions@torquerepress.com
with Charity Sip Blitz in the subject line. For formatting questions or
other content questions, please refer to our general guidelines, here:

Leather up and send us your charity sips for NOH8!

"Aren't you going to fight for him?"

Stuart swallowed, his eyes stinging. "I've no weapons and no armor. I've already surrendered. Good night, gentlemen." He went inside.

I submitted this today. I will let you know if it was accepted as soon as I know.

The second draft of the next City by the Bay (previous stories are Chiaroscuro and Something Beautiful) story is done, as of today.

There will be editing. Oh yes. It's not quite ready to submit yet, and I don't think my publisher would take too well to a 100,000-word submission. But that's an issue for another day.

(Like tomorrow or Wednesday.)

Also for another day is deciding what to actually call this thing. I've been calling it Cartography For Beginners for years, but I'm no longer sure that's the right title. Currently it's One of My Kind. I've also tried The Curve of the Earth, which seems kind of generic, and Loving Leo, which is just...yeah, no.

Oh, titles. When they don't announce themselves they can be so hard to find.

Snagged from Alex Beecroft. The rules:
1. Go to page 77 (or 7th) of your current ms
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written. No cheating.
4. Tag 7 other authors. (Not gonna do that. I hate tagging. Want, take, have.)

My seven lines are below the cut. These are from the current WIP, currently untitled. (I have a list.) I expect to finish Draft #2 today. BWEE.

The ongoing quest for organization continues. I have updated the minisite for the City by the Bay series, Gallaghers Bakery, and put together a free reads minisite at Freereads.jennajones.com.

Apples & Gin: the mini-site

make something
In my never-ending quest for organization, I've put together a mini-site for the Apples & Gin series, which can be found here. It's intended for information and links about the series, and to be a home for the little drabble-type stories about Noah and Sawyer that I intend to eventually write. (The keyword being "eventually.")
